A New Rochelle man is recovering in Jacobi Medical Center from stab wounds and the suspect is in custody in Mount Vernon. On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at about 7:45 PM, Mount Vernon Police were dispatched to the area of Petrillo Plaza for a report of a fight with a knife. Responding officers located a 39-year-old male party bleeding profusely from stab wounds to his torso upon arrival. Mount Vernon Police Officers immediately began to render aid to the victim who was ultimately taken to Jacobi Medical Center by ambulance. The victim is listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Mount Vernon Police located and arrested the suspect, 33-year-old, Lovette Justice, of Mount Vernon, shortly after the incident was reported. Justice was lodged in the Mount Vernon Police Department Jail and is expected to be arraigned on the charges of Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Attempted Assault 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree in the afternoon of June 2, 2023.
