Mount Vernon Police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured.
At around 6:15 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 Mount Vernon Police responded to the area of 107 West 4th St,
on a report of shots fired with a person struck. Upon arrival officers located a male, later identified as 20-yearold, Jaheim Vassel, of Mount Vernon, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. Mr. Vassel was transported to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to make a complete recovery.
Mount Vernon Detectives are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made in connection with this incident at this time.
