Today, we had a ribbon cutting at Nichols Playground on High Street in honor of the 32nd American Disabilities Association Act. This is the first ADA Playground in our city, and we’re excited to have a safe space where families and children with different abilities can enjoy recreation, fun and exercise. This is inclusion at its best! Special thanks to Commissioner Sylvia Gadson and her staff, the Urban Renewal Agency and HUD for fully funding this project with CDBG funds and Mount Vernon DPW for making this playground come to life for our residents! We are Mount Vernon Strong!
